Roaming the Region

by (aka Gloater), RVC Region 3

Well, it’s the end of June and I’m off to see the Wizard in the Emerald Palace of St. Paul.  I’m flying in a few days early to attempt to relax and have SOME fun before the work of being on the AMC begins.  One thing about being RVC is that you lose a lot of fun time at an Annual Gathering.  It really eats into my Hearts-playing time.

One of the things I am looking forward to is the Annual Awards.  Our region has 35 PRP nominations from eight groups; hopefully all of them will win (forever optimistic).  These nominations also include four Owl nominations. For newsletters, the Phoenix (WPAM, Alj Mary, Editor) was nominated for Large Group Owl and the Borealis (Northern Michigan, Thomas Kachadurian, Editor) was nominated for Small Group Owl. For the web, Cincinnati (Paulette Wilson, Webmaster) was nominated for Large Group Owl, and Kentuckiana (James R. Whitson, Webmaster) was nominated for Medium Group Owl.

There are a lot of interesting articles being published in our newsletters and on our web sites.  But there is another site that is shaping up to be awesome and that is our Region 3 web site.  It is a great resource for sharing information across the region – pictures, upcoming events (check out the programs for the Columbus and Cleveland RGs), Webspinner Musings, and more.  Forward your contributions to the WebSpinner, .

Hopefully I will have met several of you at the AG (before clicking my heels three times and returning to Columbus.)  If not, we have several RGs in the upcoming months.  Try to make it to them and be sure to look me up if you do.  If not, I’ll eventually be following the yellow brick road into your area.
